AI video production: how it works.
An AI video production follows the steps of a classic film, without a camera or a set: brief, script, storyboard, renders, editing, sound and release. At Ryze AI Studios, you approve the script and the storyboard before the first shot is generated. The quote sets the formats, the timeline and the usage rights (media, duration, territories) in advance. You receive files ready to publish, in French, English or German.
What does an AI video production studio do?
It makes videos whose images are generated by artificial intelligence models instead of being filmed. The craft is still a studio's craft: writing, breaking down, choosing, editing. The difference lies in how shots are made. There is no film crew, no location to book, no weather to wait for. A failed shot is regenerated instead of reshot.
People also say AI video agency. The name matters little: what counts is who writes, who chooses the shots and who answers for the quality. Ryze AI Studios is the AI video production studio of the Ryze ecosystem. It creates AI videos for businesses in Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria. It produces four kinds of video for businesses: branded series, brand film, ongoing content for social media and AI ambassador. The method below applies to all four.
How does an AI video production work, step by step?
- The brief. A scoping conversation: your product, your audience, your platforms, your tone, your release date. We set what the video must do: sell, launch, recruit or get people talking. The quote follows this brief.
- The script. The hook in the first seconds, the structure, the dialogue or voice-over, the call to action. For a series, the script draws on a bible: characters, tone, season arc. You approve the script. Nothing is generated before.
- The storyboard. The shot-by-shot breakdown: framing, light, set, characters, camera movement. This is where the visual identity is fixed. You approve the storyboard before any render.
- The renders. Each shot is generated from the storyboard, with the type of model that suits it. We generate several takes, compare them and keep the best. The selection is done by people.
- Editing. Pacing, transitions, colour grading so that all shots share the same light and colours, titles and subtitles.
- Sound. Voices, music, sound effects and mixing. Voices and subtitles can be produced in French, English and German.
- The release. Versions for each platform, ready to post, with hooks and captions. As an option, the studio schedules and publishes on your accounts.

What do you need to provide to the studio?
Not much, but the right things. The more precise they are at the start, the fewer back-and-forths later.
- Your goal and how you will measure the result.
- Your platforms and formats : where the video will be published, organically or as paid advertising.
- Your brand files : logo, colours, typefaces, brand guidelines if you have them.
- Your product photos, if the product is to appear. The studio works only from your files, with your written approval.
- The written consent of any real person whose face or voice would be used.
- Two or three references of videos you like, and one you don't.
- Your release date, so the timeline can be set in the quote.
The easiest way to start is the contact form or the express brief on the home page.
What do you approve, and when?
| Stage | What you approve | Why at that point |
|---|---|---|
| Quote | Formats, timeline, usage rights. | Everyone knows what will be delivered, and for what use. |
| Script | The message, the hook, the dialogue. | Fixing a text costs almost nothing. Fixing a finished video is expensive. |
| Storyboard | Framing, sets, characters, product. | You can reject a visual direction before it is produced. |
| Delivery | The edited video and its versions. | You check that the product shown matches the product sold. |
The number of revision rounds included after delivery is not published. Ask for it to be written into the quote. The pricing page details what makes the amount vary.
Which deliverables and formats do you receive?
| Format | Main use |
|---|---|
| 9:16 vertical | TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, stories. |
| 16:9 horizontal | YouTube, website, LinkedIn, presentations. |
| 1:1 square | News feeds and ad variants. |
| 21:9 cinema | Brand film, screening, website banner. |
Depending on the offer, subtitles, language versions, A/B versions for campaigns and versions for Meta and TikTok Ads are added. The exact list of files is written in the quote.
How do you avoid the "AI look"?
A video "looks AI" when you see the machine rather than the story: faces that change from one shot to the next, distorted hands, unreadable text in the set, jumping light, overly smooth movements. These are not inevitable. They are flaws of method.
- Write first. A real script and a shot breakdown. A string of pretty images with no story shows immediately.
- Lock the characters. A bible and approved reference images from which every shot starts. This is the basis of character consistency.
- Choose the model shot by shot. A crowd shot, a talking face and a landscape are not generated the same way.
- Select ruthlessly. We generate several takes and discard those where a detail drifts.
- Retouch what needs it. Fix one area of the image, increase the resolution, unify the colour grade.
- Take care of the sound. A well-cast voice and real sound design do more for credibility than one more shot.
- Use real files for real things. Logo, label, legal text: they come from your files, not from a generation.
The technical terms in this list are defined in the AI video glossary.
Which tools does an AI video studio use?
Tools change fast. It is more useful to know the families of tools than today's names.
- Image models : they create reference images, sets and characters from a written description, the prompt.
- Video models : they animate an approved image (image-to-video) or create a shot from text (text-to-video).
- Voice : speech synthesis, and voice cloning only with the person's consent.
- Lip sync : it matches a character's lips to the spoken text.
- Retouching and upscaling : local correction of an image, resolution upscaling.
- Editing and colour grading : standard editing software, as for a filmed production.
Ask your provider, whoever it is, what is generated, what comes from your files and who checks each shot.
Who holds the rights to the video?
What counts is written in the quote. At the studio, usage rights are set before work starts: on which media, for how long, in which countries. A paid campaign in several countries does not commit the same thing as a post on a single account. The legal framework, Swiss law and the EU regulation, is summarised in the guide rights, labelling and quality.
For transparency, the studio adds the "AI-generated content" label when regulations require it, and recommends it. Each platform's rules are detailed on the page AI content.
AI production or a shoot: how to choose?
The studio does not shoot. If your video relies on your team, your workshop or a real event, you need a camera. If it calls for a distant setting, another era, an imaginary world or many versions, AI is a good fit. The cases in between are covered in the comparison shoot, AI or hybrid.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an AI video production take?
It depends on the format, the number of shots and the number of versions. The studio does not publish a standard turnaround: the timeline is set in the quote, before work starts. Give your release date in your request.
Do I need to know how to use AI to work with the studio?
No. You bring your goal, your brand files and your approvals. The studio writes, generates, selects, edits and delivers. Your main input comes at the script and storyboard stages.
Can you show our real product and logo?
Yes, only from your files and with your written approval. For a real face, the studio asks for the person's consent. Check on the storyboard, then on delivery, that the product shown matches the product you sell.
Which languages does the studio produce in?
French, English and German, for voices and subtitles. The studio works for brands in Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria.
How much does an AI video production cost?
All offers are quoted on request, with no public price list. The amount depends in particular on the format, the number of shots, the characters, the frequency, the versions and the rights. The pricing page lists these factors.
